The iPad is basically a bigger iPhone or iPod Touch.
The iPad is not a laptop, not even close. It was designed to be a device even more portable than a laptop, but used for media (watching movies for instance), not productivity.
Its more like a big iPhone that doesn’t call and optional 3G connectivity..
No, the iPad is not at all like a laptop. Basically, it is like a big iPod touch. You can still write documents on it though.
